Head of the Brisbane
Toowong Rowing Club (TRC) welcomes you to their annual Head of the Brisbane regatta, a 9.5 km time trial, which is held annually on the second Saturday in October.
Racing starts at 7:00 am from the TRC pontoon off Keith Street, St Lucia. The Head of the Brisbane is open to all rowing boat categories: 1x to 8+, and rowers from all age groups: School, Open, and Masters.
We could not put on this event without the support of our SPONSORS.
We welcome you to this prestigious event and look forward to seeing you at the start line. Friends and supporters can enjoy the spectacle from the banks of our beautiful river.
Questions or comments, please email the HOTB committee
The Head of the Brisbane was established in 1989 to celebrate the centenary of the Toowong Rowing club (1889).
Michael Bryce designed the HOTB logo. Here's what it means:
-
The leopard’s head exemplifies courage, patience, and mettle.
-
The palm leaves, also present on the City of Brisbane's coat of arms, represent victory.
-
The wavy lines represent the Brisbane River and the circled belt, the citizens.
-
The crossed oars symbolise the sport of Rowing.
-
The blue and gold colours were inspired by the Brisbane founders.
