TRC has kicked off its Junior Program. The Junior Program is currently imbedded in a wider program being offered to school students.
- We have an eight of grade 11’s and 12’s rowing on Sundays at 7:00. We are attempting to fill another two eights.
- Rowing sessions will be introduced during the week after term 2; although are already available more informally for the more enthusiastic.
- We will be leveraging our U23 and open lightweights’ experience and knowledge.
- We also have a group of grade 10ers, we will be teaching them sweep over the off season.
- We are offer a cut price Toowong membership for school students; $240 which includes RQ registration. It is half our normal junior membership.
At the conclusion of the off season program, school students will feed back into their school program. The Grade 12’s will feed onto the Junior Program. Its goals are medals at the national titles and Australian representation at the Junior World Championships

Maroochy River Camp

To all members
Our annual rowing camp at Maroochy River Resort has been booked for the weekend of March
13-14th March. Further details of cost etc to come but it will be approx $100 for accomodation and meals and a small extra for 'towing and other expenses". Those wanting to come just for the day or even afternoon are also welcome - cost to be decided.
This weekend camp has proved very popular and beneficial for both new and old members. Apart from it being a great opportunity to get to know other members socially, the location is ideal for those wanting to try rowing in smaller boats ie singles, doubles and pairs in a quiet safe environment ie no river currents and shallow water but with esturies, and the Maroochy river as well for those up to the challenge.
The invitation is open to all members and also includes learn to row and transition rowing participants. Many rowers and coaches have commented in the past as to how much quicker rowers have learned as well as how enjoyable the whole weekend has proved to be. Members wanting to practice their coaching skills - this is an ideal time.
Families are welcome - so curious spouses can also come and have a try if they wish!
Cheers
Carol

River Debris Warning.

To all members,
Coupled with the advise from Rowing Qld and direction from Chairman Andrew Tynan and acting Club Captain Keiran Dwyer - due to the force of the current and the amount of large debris in the river, ALL ROWING IN CLUB BOATS IS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. The conditions will be re-assessed on Saturday morning and an update issued.
Those rowing private boats need to keep in mind that should there be an accident incurring personal injury, insurance cover may be an issue, given the warning advise from Rowing Qld.

Saturday Raffles
By Jack @ 10:34 AM :: 226 Views ::

Dear all
A big thanks to all who have supported the Saturday morning raffles. To date we have raised $536 and of that have purchased the industrial fan for the gym and 2 pink gym mats have also been ordered which leaves a profit of $67.
Our last raffle for the season will be this Saturday and a wonderful prize has been donated by Helen and Norm Case which is TWO GOLD CLASS MOVIE TICKETS so we are hoping to make this one a goodie!!
As the masters are heading off to Rocky in a couple of weeks and then will probably break for a while, numbers of course will dwindle on Saturday mornings which is one reason for temporarily ceasing the raffles and I have run out of prizes!! However, I plan to start them again after winter (or sooner if there are sufficient numbers at breakfast) and again will accept all prize donations. Our next purchase, depending on members input, may be an exercise bike for the gym but this has not yet been decided. If you know of a worthwhile purchase for the raffle proceeds please advise but it has to be able to be used by ALL members and not just a few.
Thanks again
Helen Wintle

Regular visitors of the TRC Website will have noticed a noticeable decline in the performance of Toowongrowing.com
This has now been remedied, permanently. Preempting the complete failure of the old server, this website has been brought online. Content is now in the process of being moved across.
